SafeColleges Instructions

Please select instructions for your course.  Under classification, select your instructor’s name if it is an option. If your instructor is not listed, select staff.

Once you login to the site, you will see a list of courses assigned to you, and the date on which they are due.  To begin a course, click on the title then follow the prompts.  To earn a certificate of completion, you must complete all sections of a course and pass the quiz.  You do not have to take SafeColleges courses in one sitting, however you will need to complete each section in entirety to move on to the next.

After watching the short videos, there is a quiz. Please note that you need a passing score of an 80 or higher on the quizzes.  To receive credit for this assignment, you must submit a copy of the completion certificate for Bystander Intervention for Students and Campus SaVE Act for Students.  The certificates must include your name and a completion date that falls into the current term.

Bystander Intervention for Students (27 minutes) - College students may very well witness or be victims of sexual violence. Focusing on bystander intervention awareness, this course examines the "bystander effect" and intervention strategies. This course will look at sexual violence awareness, the Bystander Effect, when to step in, and bystander intervention strategies.

Campus SaVE Act for Students - Sexual Violence Awareness (34 minutes) - The goal of this course is to educate college and university students on proper identification, response, and handling of incidents of sexual violence. This course will look at sexual violence awareness, risk reduction, bystander intervention, what to do when sexual violence has happened, and disciplinary proceedings, victim protections, and sanctions. The content in this course was designed with care and sensitivity; however, some may find certain topics personally upsetting, especially for survivors of sexual abuse or assault. If you feel the need to talk with someone, please contact your building administrator or a related resource in your community.
