The Office of Student Success seeks to empower students with the knowledge, skills and awareness necessary to achieve success in college and in life. We offer a number of programs and services to enhance the overall success of students at Limestone University and to support them in their goal of achieving a college degree. We strive to encourage, guide and support our students through success coaching, engagement opportunities, instructional workshops, the tutoring program, and study halls. Our services are free for current Limestone students.

As a partner in the educational process, the Office of Student Success serves as a guiding force in creating an environment throughout campus that supports retention and degree completion.

 Coffee and Conversation
The Office of Student Success believes a student must have a strong connection to their Limestone faculty to be academically successful. That’s why we want to treat them and a faculty member of their choice to a free beverage from Starbucks! They can enjoy a drink while getting to know each other outside of the classroom. Students can pick up a free ticket for themselves and one faculty member from the Academic Success Center in the Dobson Student Center 103 or by completing the following online form

Saints Shoutouts
The Saints Shoutout program allows faculty, staff, and students to send a Kudo to a member of the Limestone community to celebrate accomplishments, recognize achievements, say thank you. This program will recognize small wins throughout the semester and will give positive feedback to our Saints family.

Limestone University faculty, staff, and students may submit a Kudo by completing a form online.

Saints Stop
The purpose of Saints Stop is to alleviate food insecurity and hunger by providing basic necessities to Limestone University day students who find themselves in emergency need. Often times, when students do not have the means to purchase essentials, they have difficulty focusing on their coursework. We want to change that! Through a referral process, the program will distribute food and hygiene products to Limestone students during the academic year. By meeting these emergency needs of our students, we can alleviate some stressors and support their success inside and outside of the classroom.  Limestone University faculty, staff, and students may submit a Saints Stop referral online or by visiting Cooper East 110.

​ SaintsFIRST Mentorship Program
The SaintsFIRST mentorship program connects a faculty/staff mentor with a first-generation freshman (the first in their family to pursue a bachelor’s degree) as a source of support while transitioning to Limestone University. The program seeks to help participants feel connected to Limestone and make the most out of their college experience.  Students may sign up for the SaintsFIRST Mentorship program online or by visiting Cooper East 110.

The Office of Student Success is excited to present our workshop series! These 45-minute sessions provide students with an opportunity to learn about a skill or service focused on academic, personal and financial success.

We offer five workshops each semester that are open to all students. Information on those will be emailed to students and advertised on campus. Workshops also may be scheduled through faculty, staff, or student organizations and focus on a topic of their choosing. Requests for workshops may be submitted online.

Success Coaching

The Office of Student Success fosters the development of students’ academic and personal goals through personalized success coaching. Success coaching is an individualized meeting with a trained professional who wants to help students reach their goals. Conversations with a Success Coach will focus on learning strategies, life management and goal attainment. A meeting with a Success Coach is the best way for a student to personalize their education and stay on track to graduation. It provides them the opportunity to talk about their own experience at Limestone, in and out of the classroom, and what resources they need to achieve their goals.

We recommend a minimum of three meetings per semester with a Success Coach:

  • First of the semester to review the student’s course load and devise strategies to attack their work.
  • Mid-semester after they’ve settled into classes and are aware of assignment dates.
  • End of the semester to sharpen their focus on their remaining work.

Students can schedule additional meetings with their Success Coach anytime, especially when they:

  • feel they’re “not doing well”
  • have questions about a Limestone policy
  • feel undue academic or personal pressure
  • want to explore academic options of any kind
  • want to sharpen learning or life management skills

The Office of Student Success provides FREE tutoring to Limestone students on the main campus. The goal of the tutoring program is to support students in becoming independent learners and to foster academic growth.  The Tutoring Center is located in Dixie Lodge 103 where students can meet with a tutor. Private tutor sessions are also available and can be scheduled at a time convenient for the student.  Students will be matched with a peer tutor who has received specialized training and has the subject-specific

Study Hall

The Office of Student Success provides a structured, supervised, distraction-free study environment for students to study and to complete assignments.  Study Hall is offered at two locations on campus: Granberry Hall 200B and Hamrick Hall 127.  The Office of Student Success recommends that all freshman students and students with a GPA below 2.0 record at least 6 study hall hours per week.  Study Hall attendance is logged using a student's LCard.  In order to offer a distraction-free study environment, students are allowed to work on academic related assignments only.  Study Hall Supervisors are available to assist students and to monitor for distractive behavior.

Testing Center

The Limestone University Testing Center (located at the main campus in Gaffney, SC) administers make-up examinations for Day and Evening students and Canvas examinations for Online Students, while also administering entrance placement examinations for English. In addition, the Testing Center creates and administers the ETS Proficiency Profile to designated cohorts and is a certified testing site for CLEP and DSST examinations.
