Library Levels

Main level:

  • Best Sellers: Popular titles that can be checked out for 14 days, with a limit of two items at a time.
  • New to the Library: Both non-fiction and fiction titles that have been purchased for our main collection. These books be available in this location for up to 6 months after being purchased. If you are looking for a book and can't find it in the main collection, this may be where it is located.
  • Reserves: If your professor has placed an item on reserve (it is being held for a class to read/view), this will be held behind the Library Information Desk. Reserve items are for in-library use only.
  • Videos/DVDs: These are shelved behind the Library Information Desk, and are only available for faculty to check out from the library. They can, however, be viewed by students while in the library.
  • Headphones:Earbuds, if needed, can be found at the Library Information Desk.
  • Computer Stations: The library has 24 computer work stations, as well as 6 Quick Print stations for student use.
  • Laptops: The library has 31 laptops that are available for in-house checkout. They are for in-library use only and can be checked out for however long is needed with your LCard at the Library Information Desk or from our new Laptop Vending Maching (located by the Quick Print Station).
  • Classroom: Classroom HRC 250B is located on the main level of the Library. If you need help locating any rooms ask the Information Desk.
  • Instruction Room: Our Instruction room (250A) is located on this level of the Library. If your professor has scheduled an Instruction Session and you need help locating the classroom, ask the Information Desk.
  • Study Rooms: Study Rooms 1-5 are located on this level of the Library.

Upper Level:

  • Main Collection: These books can be checked out from the library. The Limestone University Library uses the Library of Congress Classification System. 
  • Reference Books: Dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauri, quotations, biographical sources, statistical sources, etc. These are for in-library use only.
  • Periodicals: Current periodicals (magazines, journals, newspapers) are located in the compact shelving after the end of the Main Collection (Z's). These are for in-library use only.
  • Bound Periodicals: A bound periodical has the appearance of a hardcover book but contains multiple issues of a journal. 
  • Scores: Music Scores are located one shelf over from the Periodicals. These can be checked out from the library.
  • Archives: The library has a collection of documents, photographs, maps, and other archival material of historical interest to Limestone University. These items are for in library use only, and require an appointment for viewing. 
  • Curriculum Lab: contains K-12 textbooks, teaching aids, juvenile book collection and other useful materials to support the education program.
  • Classroom(s): HRC 321 is located on this level of the Library. The Curriculum Lab, HRC 317, is also used as a Classroom for the Education Department. If you need help locating any rooms ask the Information Desk.
  • Study Rooms: Study Rooms 6-12 are located on this level of the Library.
