iBooks is an amazing way to download and read books. iBooks includes the iBookstore, where you can download the latest bestselling books or your favorite classics – day or night. Browse your library on a beautiful bookshelf, tap a book to open it, flip through pages with a swipe or a tap, and bookmark or add notes to your favorite passages.

GoodReader

GoodReader is much more than a simple PDF annotation app. It is a full featured file manager app for iOS. One of the coolest features is the ability to sync a folder on your iPad with a remote one on any server. This ensures your work is continually backed up. Annotation features include text boxes, sticky notes, text highlights, freehand drawings, lines, arrows, rectangles, ovals, clouds, text underlines, strikeouts, and text insertion marks. You can even add PDF links to make navigation simple. For $4.99 you get a better app than the $9.99 apps. The app is easy to use and more powerful than most of the other apps out there. A great alternative to the essential free app.
