MG 620 Supply Chain Management: Borrow from Other Libraries

PASCAL Delivers vs Interlibrary Loan

If the book or article you want is not available in South Carolina, you can always submit an Interlibrary Loan request.

What's Different?:

Interlibrary Loan

PASCAL Delivers

  • Journal articles, books, videos, and more can be requested.
  • Only books can be requested.
  • Lending period varies.
  • Lending period is 6 weeks.
  • Renewals vary depending on lending library.
  • 1 time renewal of up to 6 weeks.
  • Loaned items delivered by U.S. Postal Service.
  • Books delivered faster by PASCAL Courier.
  • Requests placed by library staff.
  • You place your own requests.
  • Status of requests can only be viewed by library staff.
  • You can view your patron record and check the status of your request(s).
  • Items come from all types of libraries around the world.
  • Books come only from SC academic libraries.

What's the Same?:

  • You are responsible for any lost or damaged items.

Interlibrary Loan Service

ILL Costs.

Although in most cases, there is no charge for ILL service, some libraries may charge a fee before they lend out certain items. A.J, Eastwood Library will pay the first $15 of any fee charged per semester. If you are requesting more than one item that is charged a fee, you will need to let us know how much you are willing to pay for the additional items. Note that the library will pay up to $25 in postage per semester per student/faculty/staff.

Other Libraries

Current students, faculty, and staff at participating libraries have access to PASCAL Delivers.  Through the PASCAL Delivers catalog, books that are not available locally can be requested from other member libraries. Patrons must be “in good standing” at their home library (no overdue books or fines) in order to use the service. PASCAL patrons can also go to other libraries to borrow materials in person using the Visiting Patron service.

Public Libraries

Time and distance makes the use of other libraries appealing. Local libraries can provide the remote learner with an atmosphere conducive to studying, reference material (both paper and online), and Internet access. Off-Campus students may obtain library cards to an academic library near them. Check the Gaslight Student Handbook for information on libraries near you. If a community borrowing card is purchased, send in the receipt to the AJ Eastwood Library, Limestone College, 1115 College Drive, Gaffney, SC 29340, for reimbursement (maximum of $25 per year).
